Check out this cool cutting board! It is puzzle shaped and was sent to me by Cutting Board USA. I just love this company and love how my board works. I can use just one small piece or the whole thing. It nicely covers one area of my granite counter top perfectly for me. I can also take out a quarter of the board and use it as a server. How cool is that? Perfect for the kids or the entertainer in the family!
Just to give you an idea of the variety they have available, there is Walnut, Maple, and Butcher block! You can even get a special engraved one for a gift or special occasion. What an awesome wedding gift it would be! Anniversary, a new Chef, all kinds for the creative mind! If you want a custom board they have all the instructions and will work with you on it closely as they have great customer service!
Also they will custom cut to special order with an order of 50 or more for new restaurateurs! I love the bread boards!
I would like to share with you all an important part of the site and it is for anyone with a wooden cutting board and that is proper care and oiling and cleaning of the board. I think most of us are guilty of not taking proper care of our cutting boards. I think back to my Mom’s before she passed and it was cracked all over and left soaking in the sink so that thing must of been having a germ festival!
Please take a look at this and remember:
Wood cutting boards
Wash thoroughly but quickly without leaving the board submerged in water for an extended period of time. Also note that wooden cutting boards are NOT dishwasher safe. In both cases this will lead to cracks in the wood which are a safety concern due to bacteria.
Even with hand washing, eventually cracks can appear if the board is not oiled regularly. Use our brand of wood cutting board oil, or other food-safe oils that do not spoil. Vegetable oil is not a good choice as it will degrade and cause odor over time. Check the label for safe mineral oils, or use Walnut or Almond Oil, but be aware of nut allergies when you have guests over for dinner.
Studies have shown that deep scars in a cutting can retain bacteria after a light wash. Therefore it is recommended that minimal pressure is applied when cutting through food.
